New Peonie flowers with matching crochet headband!

Hello all!
Hope you are all enjoying this cloudy weekend! I have been working on a few new tutus. I am so excited to share them soon. Check back to see the "Bubblegum" tutu and the "Pop Princess". I recently decided that on top of my homemade bows and tutus, I am going to start selling flower headbands! I just received a shipment in and they are adorable. I have two different types of Peoni flowers and will be receiving some Daisy and Lilly's on Monday. They each come with a matching crochet headband. The headband is 1 1/2'' wide and is best suited for a baby. They are available for a limited time for 5-6 dollars each, so stock up and buy one in every color! to see more pictures view my facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Forever-Young-Designs/372510506096072?sk=wall

Will you be my Valentine?

Hi guys! I know it's been a couple of days, I have been pretty busy working on some new products. I thought that since Valentines Day is coming up I would post some more pictures of my Sweetheart tutu. My friend Denae and I take our little ones to the photo studio fairly regularly. We actually have a membership. We always have them take pictures together when there is a holiday or if they have matching outfits. For Christmas Kevin was dressed in a Santa suit and Caydance had a green and red tutu with a red onsesie that said "Santa's Helper". There is even a picture of Kevin kissing her on the cheek under the christmas tree. Probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I know that they are going to hate these pictures when they get older and will probably make us pay for it in their teenage years. But it will be worth it. I think part of being a mommy is doing things that will embarrass our children. I know I thought that was my mom's life mission. You learn to appreciate it later. Anyway back to the tutu. We were planning on taking pictures of them for V-day and so I decided to make a tutu for the shoot. I loved it so much I ended up making two! There are some pictures below. This is still available in time for Valentines day. It comes with a matching bow for only $13.00. Email me if you would like more information or to place an order. :)

Adorable right?

More Kanzashi Flowers

I wasn't sure what to work on today and after a very successful trip to Joann's for some fabric I decided to make some more Kanzashi flowers. I am really loving the more vintage look of them. Very simple yet elegant. I love that you can buy Fabric squares and most fabric stores. You can really get creative with many different colors and patterns without having to commit to a whole yard. Below are some with the new fabric that I got. They are finished with a felt square on the back with a removable alligator clip. They can also be attached to a headband.

Also Joann's had an amazing sale on Tulle so I stocked up. This week I am going to be making 2 tutu's as well as finishing the cotton candy one tomorrow. Hope you like them!

Cotton Candy Tutu

Hi all, I know I promised Saturday that I would be posting pics of the "Cotton Candy" tutu on Monday. I was waiting to get a model for it, so you can see it on (really doesn't do justice on the ground...) however I won't be able to do that until Thursday. And I must admit that I was terribly tempted to try it on my little boy Kevin. But, I know that my husband would kill me. Especially if I showed the pictures to others. So I resisted and took some pictures of it on the floor. I will make sure to take some better ones on Thursday with my beautiful model Caydance. I am also going to be adding some pink satin ribbon bows. I really love these colors together. I think it is perfect for a birthday party or pictures. Also spring is coming, almost reminds me of an Easter egg with the beautiful pastel colors adorable for Easter pictures. Take a look!

Satin Flowers!

Good evening!! Where did this day go? I just looked at the clock for what I feel like is the first time and it's already past 5. Yikes! Well, They say time flies when you are having fun. And today I had fun! I had purchased some satin the other day and was so excited to use it. I have been a little sidetracked the past few days making felt flowers. Today was satins turn. I failed at a few before I found a method I liked. I also burned my fingers trying to singe the petals. But I must say the finished product makes it all worth it. I love this look. I think I am going to make some for myself as well. I am going to put some on headbands. I also received some alligator clips in the mail today. They easily attach to the backs of the flowers to clip to a crochet band or even your shirt. Here are some that I made today. I am planning on buying some satin in other colors in the next few days. As always let me know what you think...

I also started working on my "Cotton Candy" tutu. Taking a day off tomorrow for the Superbowl. Look for the finished product on Monday! Hope you have a great weekend!

Felt Flowers!

Good Afternoon!

So, I want to admit that I stand corrected. Recently I have had a couple people tell me about felt flowers. First my friend who really likes a more vintage look and told me that felt flowers are a beautiful and unique way to get that feel. I wasn't quite sure. Then my mother in law who recently got a Sizzix die cutting machine told me how much fun she has been having making felt flowers. I still wasn't sure until she came over last weekend and helped me cut some out. I was so surprised. Not only were they a lot easier than I thought, but they really were quite beautiful. Felt has proved to be a very easy fabric to work with and the possibilities really are endless. I have put together a few examples of what felt has to offer. This is just the tip of the iceberg. They will look great on a headband or even a broach or embellishment. Take a look and as always let me know what you think!

Sheer Ribbon Flowers

Good evening! Sorry I didn't get to this earlier. Hubby had another day off so we took our little guy to the park. So much fun watching him play. Anyways, I had some free time this morning and decided to try and recreate something I saw in the store. I have been trying to find a picture of what they look like for comparison but haven't been able to locate one online. I found a great tutorial on how to make these and at first they looked pretty difficult i.e. a lot of sewing (which I am not very good at). After a few petals I realized that it's not as scary as it looked and the finished product looks great. I added a white feather and a gemstone and presto. A great flower that will look so cute on a hair clip and much less expensive that buying at the store. ( I think it was about 5 dollars for 3 that were half this size)  Let me know what you think!

Make sure to check back tomorrow I am going to be introducing a bunch of new Felt Flowers!!!

Kanzashi Fabric Flowers

Spent all day yesterday trying to figure out what to work on. Sometimes when you have too many projects going on at once, you need to take a step back and take one thing at a time. So I decided to spend the day with the hubby. He wasn't working yesterday and I figured that one day without new creation would be o.k. But last night we had two of our best friends over and as the guys were in the other room watching a movie, we decided to get to work. I recently learned how to make a version of the Kanzashi flower and absolutely love them. They will look so good on a headband or even a clip. Here are a few that were made. Hope you like them!
